Before I created Drunk Elephant, I struggled with various skin problems. As a frustrated consumer, I tried numerous brands in search of a solution, only to find that nothing really worked, and if it did, it was only temporary. I took it upon myself to educate about the effects of ingredients on the skin and the roles they play in formulations. This led me to identify six categories of ingredients that I believed were at the root of my issues, which we now refer to as the Suspicious 6. We have also made it our mission to eliminate the Suspicious 6, and encourage people to take a "Drunk Break" by removing these ingredients from their routine. It's important to note that all our formulations are free from the Suspicious 6, which includes essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical screens, fragrance/dyes, and SLS. We have also formulated our products with ingredients that are easily absorbed and understood by the skin, without any unnecessary additives to alter their natural state.
